You might want this
I’m intentionally avoiding commenting on certain posts these days. Because I’m pretty sure, if those discussions last any longer, every one would need one of these
Thanks Jack Point, I must admit I found this really interesting too.
To be honest I don't think especially as a Tamil I would normally have the courage to have a discussion with someone who was considering voting for a Sinhala Buddhist racist party :-). But when I read through Mahasen's post it sounded different to the usual, and being aware of the state of the country, I could feel his desperation for an alternative. Obviously I was curious to know what kind of policies they had and why people would consider voting for them. It was a bit sad too.
Above all I think everyone would agree, Mahasen seems a person without guile and well...a true Sinhala Buddhist gentleman (Think Sihala Urumaya can learn a thing or two from you). So I felt comfortable asking him questions and appreciated the time he took to provide me with honest answers. Actually, Mahasen you and aweekinSriLanka are two of the nicest bloggers. Its nice to know there there are some decent people out there.
By the way I sent a link on why you wanted to vote for Sihala Urumaya to some relatives and friends and they got addicted :-) You are a funny fellow...in a nice way. :-)
Hey "L" would you mind answering a personal question?
For some strange reason your comments seem to have a feminine touch. I can't put a finger on what it is that gives me this impression, but is this correct?
Not that it really matters, and you need'nt answer if you don't want to.
(Jack Point, being a character, a jester in an obscure play by an even more obscure author)
I rather liked this line, when the character Jack Point sings:
"I've wisdom from the East and from the West, That's subject to no academic rule; You may find it in the jeering of a jest, Or distil it from the folly of a fool. I can teach you with a quip, if I've a mind; I can trick you into learning with a laugh; Oh, winnow all my folly, folly, folly, and you'll find A grain or two of truth among the chaff! Oh, winnow all my folly, folly, folly, and you'll find A grain or two of truth among the chaff!"
which means you must not take too seriously what I say......:)
Hey Mhahsen
ReplyDeletehave enjoyed reading your blog, keep it up.
You've raised some very interesting topics and there has been a lot of fruitful discussion. I think I learned something from the exercise.
A lot of your contributors, especially "L" have some interesting points of view. Maybe its gone on a bit long but still...
I enjoyed it just as much.
ReplyDeleteThank you every one..

Hi Jack Point :-)
ReplyDeleteWas going to say I was an 87 year man without any teeth but then I decided to maintain gender neutrality so we don't detract from the issues.
Mahasen I better stop gushing about your greens :-)
Your pictures are great though.
Cheers
p.s. actually someone kept asking me who Jack Point was so now they will be happy to know.
