Eagle's Ridge - Hatton

Last weekend our team went on a trip to Eagle's Ridge in Hatton. That was like the worst trip I ever went on. All the alcoholics got drunk and brought out their animal behavior and about five or six of us were there with nothing to do but walk around. There wasn't much to see or do. But I managed to capture some pictures.

  3. Recreational hazard of tripping with a bunch of - lemme try to be politically correct here – Intoxicative Beverage Enthusiasts? Anti-Sobriety Activists? :) Anyway you've proved the silver lining theory again, beautiful pics! I especially like the top 3 and the one before last.

  4. I'm beginning to realize that I'm not so good in capturing landscapes; At least not as much as macro.

  5. Mahasen, I saw these, and I postponed commenting because being a non-expert, I couldn't figure out the words to describe what I thought.

For what it is worth, they are a beautiful set of pictures. Difficult to pick but I do like the last picture. I can almost feel the texture. The image is amazingly sharp as well. Funnily enough though I am not sure I would like it on its own. The pictures together seem to give a more complete sense of the place. I havn't been here, so I am not sure how well you have done it. Have to say though it has made me curious, and makes me want to visit the place.

Maybe you are right, at the moment, your landscapes may not be as polished as your macros, but I like the fact that they feel real. They are not the usual clichéd tourist brochure "Sri Lanka paradise" shots. There is something there... a sense of authenticity...so please don't stop.

  7. Thanks a lot L!

If any one is to ask me whether it's a good destination for a holiday, I'd say not. But for all those alcohol loving metro crowd it could be a weekend getaway.

The sceneries were nice, but our country has more beautiful places. All of the non alcoholics who went on that trip decided to go to "worlds end" for a weekend without our alcohol loving friends. If that ever materialize, I think I'd be able to capture some good photos.
